“The Theme of Her Attire” by Thomas Z Lukoma

elegant-soft-blue

An elegant soft blue was the color of choice,
Princess the theme of her attire.

She floated onto the dancefloor ready to be swept into action by her energetic partner,

Unfettered by the hungry looks of wallflowers.

Her partner, dressed in an aura of control, grabbed her delicate hands, “Shall we dance?”

“As long as its funky!” she smiled.

He immediately flung her and caught her, spun her around.

Nearly losing her balance, she managed to catch herself just in time.

Her arms flailed in syncopation with the rhythm as the pounding balls of her feet said their piece.

They spoke in couplets.

The fire of their vigor continued to burn the floor as other couples paused to make way.

Tango, Cha Cha, Swing it baby!

Was this princess a lady?
Beads of sweat, hurried breaths, floating seams on the elegant blue.

Never have I seen such violent motion so elegantly dressed.
A soft blue was the color of choice,

Princess the theme of her attire.
